orange hair!
I chose # 102 ash blond for a first time at home dye to blend dark and light blond and avoid any red. Now I am embarrassed to leave the house and trying to figure out how to re-dye this hair. It looks orange. a waste of time, money, and emotion. very upsetting.

About the foam that doesn't foam
Used this product about 5 times trying to give it a chance but it doesn't foam as shown in the illustration which causes it to drip and be messy. Also I have had to settle for reddish brown instead of the auburn choices I have in the other Nice N Easy of which I have used for 30 years.

If you want your hair to become pitch black, go ahead, use this
I used this product back in September, but I just saw a commercial for it and decided I must write a review. 5 months later, and seeing the commercial STILL makes me mad. And seeing current reviews show that Clairol clearly hasn't done much to try and make their product any better. Usually when I want to dye my hair dark brown, I choose a dark brown shade. But when I dyed my hair in September I decided to go with a Medium Brown since Dark Brown is usually to dark for my liking at first. First of all, the foam is a bit easier to apply, but it still is messy. And if I remember correctly, it smelled AWFUL. Of course, most hair dye smells bad, but this was the worst. It smelled like rotten egg, and left my hair smelling like that for a couple days (After washing my hair 4 times a day). I ended up rinsing out the color about 5 or 10 minutes early, because it looked like it was becoming black, not brown. I was right. My hair was pitch black. I absolutely hated it. I tried to wash my hair 4 times a day, but it would not fade at all. After 2 weeks or so I just got so sick of it I ended up using color remover and re-colored my hair a different color (and brand). I try to not use any clairol product any more, because this experience has caused me to distrust them.

Thought I got lucky...
My natural hair is darkest brown with some red/orange strands that make it look lighter at times. I have random grey strands and noticable grey anywhere my hair is parted. I had only used semi-permanent before this. I really thought I got lucky with my first pick for permanent: 118 Natural Medium Brown.
I LOVED how my hair felt and looked. It was soft and shiny and had a beautiful color-- almost identical to when I was younger. I loved it up until Day 4 or 5 when the greys started to fight back and win. I still liked it until about day 10 when I began to notice a copper penney glow on top of my head.
Soon after the top two inches of my hair got lighter and lighter and the bottom lost the light tones and started looking color-built-black. It was not attractive and I feared the top was going to turn tangerine.
I called my brutally honest (home color experienced) sister and she thought I must have botched the instructions and started in wrong place and not left it in long enough. She told me it wasn't orange but was definitely two shades lighter on top and that she could see the greys and a copper glow. Ugh!
She told me to wait a full six weeks from when I colored and try again, leave in 45 minutes and make sure to follow the instructions for not a first-timer.
It looked just as beautiful the next try and the 45 minutes did keep the grey in check for 3 weeks but the copper glow and lightening (even lighter than last time) happened again so I need a different color but I love how the dye treats my hair.
I still recommend the color to people who have lighter hair than is on the box or darker hair but without any warm tones in natural hair.
I was going to try 120 but I see orange issues there too. I hate to be forced to get rid of all my natural warm tones with a cool/ash color but this copper glow must go!

FOAM IN TONES
AND HIGHLIGHTS
HOW TO USE
Watch the simple application video or follow these step by step instructions to achieve beautiful tones & highlights every time.
PREPARE TO COLOR

- Remember to do a skin allergy test 48 hours before each application, even if you have already used coloring products.
- Before you color, be sure you have a smock or old towel to protect your clothing, and a clock for timing.
- Read the in-box instructions to make sure you are familiar with Color Blend Foam application. Then you’re ready to begin.
1. MIX

- Put on professional colorist gloves.

- Add bottle 1 (the colorant) to bottle 2 (the developer) and replace the white cap.

- Shake the bottle three times. The formula mixes easily, so don’t over shake or re-shake during use. It will remain a liquid in the bottle; the foam forms when you squeeze it into your hands.
- Insert the foamer cap in the bottle and screw on tightly. Let the bottle settle for 30 seconds before squeezing.
2. SQUEEZE & DISPENSE

- Hold the bottle upright (not horizontally) and firmly squeeze the center until foam fills half the palm of your gloved hand.
Tip: A little foam may appear in the bottle after 3 shakes. However, if the foam fills to the top, the bottle has been shaken too much. If this happens, do not dispense foam – it will be runny. If foam fills to the top of the bottle, squeeze 2-3 times onto a paper towel or tissue to prime and start the foaming action.
3. APPLY

Tip: The foam is a permanent dye and can temporarily stain your skin. To help avoid staining, apply a small amount of petroleum jelly or facial moisturizer to the skin at your hairline to create a barrier before beginning. If foam dye comes in contact with skin, wipe away immediately with facial cleanser or astringent.

- For all-over application, work the product into dry hair from root to tip, using a shampoo-like motion. Continue applying until hair is completely wet.
- Once hair is thoroughly wet, carefully re-touch your hairline and temples to ensure complete coverage.
- Set the timer for 25 minutes. Tip: For resistant grays, add an extra 10 minutes.
4. RINSE AND CONDITION

- Rinse Color Blend Foam from your hair until the water runs clear.
- Apply the ColorSeal Conditioning Treatment. Leave it on for two minutes, then rinse out completely.
- Save your second treatment packet and use it one week later.

COLOR BLEND FOAM FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
WHAT SHOULD I DO BEFORE APPLYING THE FOAM?
Remember, this foam is a permanent dye and can temporarily stain your skin. To help avoid staining, apply a small amount of petroleum jelly or facial moisturizer to the skin at your hairline to create a barrier before beginning to color. If dye comes in contact with skin, wipe away immediately with a facial cleanser/astringent.
HOW SHOULD I HOLD THE BOTTLE?
Holding bottle horizontally while squeezing will cause runny foam to be dispensed. Be sure to keep the bottle upright while using.
HOW SHOULD I MIX THE FOAM?
To begin application, give the bottle 3 simple shakes to mix contents; formula mixes easily. Do not shake vigorously.
WHAT HAPPENS IF THE FOAM’S RUNNY AFTER THE FIRST SQUEEZE?
The first squeeze is a prep step to start the foaming action. This may produce some non-foamed liquid, so squeeze into palm of gloved hand and discard on paper towel/tissue. A little foam may appear in the bottle after 3 shakes. However, if foam fills to the top, the bottle has been shaken too much. If this happens, do not dispense—foam will be runny.
SHOULD THERE BE FOAM IN THE BOTTLE?
Product should remain a liquid in the bottle after mixing; foam will form when squeezing into the hand. The pink foamer cap transforms the liquid into foam when the bottle is squeezed. Just 3 gentle shakes to mix, then squeeze bottle to foam!
Shaking the bottle more than 3 times to mix may cause it (bottle) to fill with foam and cause foam to dispense runny. If this happens, do not apply. If foam fills to top of bottle, allow mixture to settle for 30 seconds, then squeeze 2-3 times onto paper towel or tissue to prime and start the foaming action. Squeeze the foamer bottle lightly 2-3 times until high quality foam is dispensed.

THE SCIENCE OF
COLOR BLEND FOAM
COLOR BLEND TECHNOLOGY.
TONES & HIGHLIGHTS THAT LAST.
WHAT’S THE SCIENCE BEHIND NICE ’N EASY COLOR BLEND FOAM?
While hair colorants have traditionally been in liquid or crème form, foam is a unique form. It’s not a liquid, gas or solid, but combines the best properties of all three. Nice ’n Easy Color Blend Foam’s tint and developer are easily mixed and remain in liquid form. Foam is produced when the unique foamer bottle is squeezed.
Once a foam, the product keeps from dripping through fingers or from the head for no-mess application. Once the foam comes in contact with the hair, it acts more like a liquid, making it easy to spread for 100% gray coverage and amazing tones and highlights.
WHY IS IT UNBEATABLY FADE-DEFYING?
Color Blend Foam absorbs instantly on contact. You’ll notice that it transforms on hair faster than other foams and it locks in color for tones and highlights that lasts. See images below to see why Nice ’n Easy Color Blend Foam is so unbeatably fade-defying among foams.
