This easy technique will replicate natural highlights and eliminate brassiness.
1. To start, you’ll need two boxes of color in shades from the same hair color family.
Select two Nice ‘n Easy colors or one Nice ‘n Easy color and one Root Touch-Up color within two shades of each other. You’ll want a darker shade for your roots, base and hairline—this will be the backdrop for your lighter shade. The lighter shade will be for the mid-shaft of your hair and the ends.
2. Mix each color according to package directions, remembering to perform the allergy & strand test 48 hours in advance. Keep the colors separate.
3. On dry hair, create four even sections using your clips.
With two Nice ‘n Easy colors:
Apply your lighter shade choice to the mid-shaft of your hair. Depending on how much your hair usually absorbs color, you may or may not want to include your ends. Allow this to process for 10-15 minutes.
Apply your darker shade choice to your roots and hairline and allow to process for 15 minutes.
With Nice ‘n Easy and Root Touch-Up:
Start with your lighter Nice ‘n Easy shade and apply to your mid-shaft. You may or may not want to include your ends, depending on how much your hair usually absorbs color. Let it process for 20 minutes.
Apply the darker Root Touch-Up shade to your roots and hairline for the last 10 minutes of processing.
6. Rinse out the color and apply Nice ‘n Easy Color Seal Gloss, letting it sit for 2-5 minutes.
With your dry hair, create four even sections using your clips.
Apply the lighter shade your mid-shaft and ends.
Apply the darker shade to your roots and hairline.
After rinsing, apply Nice ‘n Easy Color Seal Gloss for soft, silky color.
