disappointed in new product not enough for coverage I am disappointed in that the new Natural Instincts product does not have enough color to successfully color my short Mia Farrow hair. The gloves are useless, and I had to cut off the top of the container just to get enough color to go on my hair. The end product came out great. I love the color and the texture of my hair Hope Clairol gets enough reviews to go back to the Older Style, with enough product for coverage, and the older glove style so it would not get on your hands 02/19/12

Awful First, I thought this was non-permanent hair colour. I don't know when Clairol added the Natural Instincts "Vibrant" to its line, but I just saw Natural Instincts and assumed it was the usual semi-permanent colour that I wanted. The word permanent should be made more visible, since to most people I know Natural Instincts is synonymous with semi-permanent colour. Second, I followed the instructions completely. I am an experienced hair dyer. I usually mix my own, but the professional beauty store was already closed and I wanted to dye my hair that night. The colour activating cream (bottle #2) and the vibrant creme colourant (bottle #1) would not mix. When I combined them, it became a super thick, gloopy mess that I had never seen hair colour do before. So, since I couldn't mix it (I even tried stirring it in a mixing bowl), I couldn't use it. I guess I was lucky I couldn't even dye my hair, since I didn't realise the permanent thing until after the whole disaster. 12/26/11

Why did you ruin my favorite hair product? I used to love Clairol Natural Instincts. LOVE it. Spiced Tea was a perfect shade for me. It made my naturally dark blonde hair look red and gorgeous. Everyone thought I was a natural redhead (or spending $$ at a salon for such great results). The new formula is terrible. The color is ashy and dull. It was an overly dark shade of red for the first week and looked totally fake. Now two weeks later, it just looks dark and dull. After reading the negative reviews of the color refresher, I don't want to try it. Natural Instincts used to be such a unique and wonderful product, since there are very few nonpermanent dyes on the market, especially reds. I had tried the others but didn't like them as much. You could have had my brand loyalty forever, Clairol, but I don't want to use the new Natural Instincts again. Can you please please please bring back the original formula and colors? I want to love you again, but this ashy color is breaking my heart. 01/15/12

Definately not what it advertised! I have been using Clariol Nice and Easy for a couple years now and have always loved the end results no matter if it was brown, blonde, or red dye I was using. After using natural instincts vibrant 10 min color tonight, I now have orange roots! Reddish brown is a lie, its reddish orange!!! Mind you I'm 24, have no grey roots, and my hair was a med/dark brown no highlights. I matched it to the color on the back of the box and was so excited about having this beautiful deep aurburnish hair after only 10min! But I was definitely surprised after washing out my hair, then drying it hoping and praying it would be darker, but its not. My roots are ORANGE! I really wish I had read previous reviews because now I have to go back to the store and buy another two boxes wasting my money to hopefully fix this botch product. Please Clariol get rid of this line!! 12/06/11

RADIANT, LONG-LASTING COLOR. IN JUST 10 MINUTES.

HOW TO USE

Follow these simple step by step instructions to achieve radiant and healthy-looking color.

PREPARE TO COLOR
- Remember to do a skin allergy test 48 hours before each application, even if you have already used coloring products.
- Before you color, be sure you have a smock or old towel to protect your clothing, and a clock for timing.
- Read the in-box instructions to make sure you are familiar with Natural Instincts Vibrant application. Then you’re ready to begin.
1. MIX
- Put your Coloring Gloves on, then tear off and discard the tab from the Color Activating Creme (Bottle #2) and unscrew the cap.
- Open the Vibrant Creme Colorant (Bottle #1) and squeeze its entire contents into Bottle #2.
- Replace the cap, place a gloved fingertip on the cap, point away from face, and shake well until the color has fully mixed.
2. APPLY COLOR
For Roots and All Over Color
- After mixing, apply color immediately to dry hair.
- Start with your roots and where you have the most gray.
- Once roots are completely covered, apply the remaining color quickly to the rest of your hair by parting and lifting hair as you apply. Work mixture through until hair is completely saturated, but do not rub into scalp.
- Start your timer for just 10 minutes (or the time indicated by your strand test).
Tip: For resistant gray hair, you may need to leave color on for an additional 5 minutes, for no longer than a total of 15 minutes.
3. RINSE AND CONDITION
- Rinse until the water runs clear.
- Gently massage a quarter-sized amount of the Color Treat™ Conditioner (3) through your hair. Leave on for 2 minutes, then rinse thoroughly.
- Save the remaining Color Treat Conditioner to use once a week for fresh, radiant color and health-looking hair.
REFRESH YOUR COLOR AFTER 2 WEEKS
Use the Natural Instincts Week 2 Color Refresher to boost your color in just minutes!
- Use it two weeks after you have colored your hair. Note: Before using it, conduct another skin allergy test 48 hours before application by applying a small amount of the product to an area the size of a quarter in the bend of your elbow and allowing it to dry. Do not wash this area for 48 hours. If there are no reactions, proceed with product application. If a rash, redness, burning or itching occurs, you must not use this product. The color of the Revitalizer product does not represent your final hair color result.
- To use the Color Refresher, shampoo your hair as usual. Put on the extra pair of gloves that came in your Natural Instincts box.
- Apply the entire sachet of Color Refresher and distribute uniformly through the hair. Leave on for five minutes. Rinse thoroughly and style as usual.
- You do not need to apply conditioner afterwards.
